Nim, a modern-day Robinson Crusoe, is undaunted by living along on an island while her father sails off to study plankton on another island for three days. Disaster seems about to ruin a nearly perfect life on an island when her father is lost at sea in a storm, and she must use her wits (and the help of her new penpal) to survive until he returns.
