A shy boy (originally named Neftali Reyes) who is born in Chile, he is not understood by his father who wants him to grow up to be a doctor or business man. Naftali is always dreaming, distracted by the world around him, which he captures in writing poetry. He is able to follow his dreams nurtured by his stepmother and an uncle.
